21 years of Jaime
The Jaime from Duotone takes its name from Spanish kitesurfing pioneer Jaime Herraiz, one of the first freestyle innovators who helped define the modern style of twin-tip riding.
In 2005 North (now Duotone) launched its pro model “Jaime”, a sandwich construction twin-tip that at the time left everyone speechless and redefined the way kitesurfing boards are built, to the point that its concept is still the basis of today’s design.
The board has remained in the range ever since, updated every season but always retaining the same spirit: a high-performance but accessible freestyle-freeride board, reflecting Jaime’s own riding: powerful, stylish and very versatile.
Who is it for?
I would say that the Jaime is for riders who have already passed the pure beginner phase and want a board that allows them to jump high, freestyle from basic to advanced level and continue to ride comfortably in day-to-day conditions. It suits intermediate to advanced kitesurfers who like good pop, solid grip and good upwind, but are not looking for a super specific wakestyle board; Think Big Air/Freestyle-oriented freeriders who want a single board to do just about everything.
