IWWF World Cup Jordan 2018

For the record, I am writing this blog from my mobile because my laptop has broken but, I really wanted to tell you about my great trip to Jordan! I received an invitation from the IWWF

(International Waterski and Wakeboarding Federation) to represent the Wakeboard World Cup in Aqaba, Jordan.

God,Jordan!,The city of
Petra!
Well, and that’s what I knew about the country???? But boy, I was dying to go and discover.

I arrived two days before the rest of the competitors arrived and… Wow, what good luck! In those days the adventures did not cease lol. But let’s leave them for another chapter.

THE COMPETITION

The competition lasted two days. Friday and Saturday. First they touched the grades. I was extremely nervous which made me make some beginner mistakes which made me go straight to the LCQ (the second chance to get into the final).

LCQ’s are a bit because, instead of having two runs, you only have one. That is, if with two spins you make a first round to “secure” and another in which, depending on what the others do, you throw some tricks or others … Here it’s all playing or not playing it. I don’t remember exactly but, I think the penultimate one came out, that is, I could see what they did all (except one) to half know whether to play it or not. Well, hopefully, doing a simple round I was able to advance to the final:

This final was the most difficult competition I’ve ever done in my life. The level was brutal!
All the girls were landing tricks that a few years ago you got on the podium easily. The truth is that I am proud to be part of this moment in history, the girls are working on it and we want everyone to find out. In the end I stayed with the 7th position. It’s not what I was looking for, it’s not the result I expected but, I’m happy. I ironed out my round, did almost everything I could do, and between my 7th position and 4th I was only 1 point apart, so it could have been anyone. I’m left wanting to keep training and ironing new tricks 🙂 #Seguimosluchando!!

JORDAN AND THE WADI RUM DESERT

It’s one of the most brutal things I’ve ever seen in my life. If you are reading this I recommend 200% go see it once in a lifetime. I leave you some photos just in case…
