7th at the Wakeboarding Euros

**This post is not translated into English. Sorry 🙂

This past August I had the luck and honor to represent Spain again in an international cable competition. This is my third European and the fifth time with the red(Tel Aviv, Shanghai, El Gouna, Jordan, Milan).
It’s one of the things I’m most proud of in my career and in my life, wearing your country’s jersey is just huge!! I love being able to do it and I hope to continue doing it for many years. Well, let’s get to the mess, how did the competition go?

This year the competition format changed. In order not to lengthen, basically, now instead of LCQ (Last Chance Qualifier), there will be quarters, semis, etc. And only 6 will go to the final.

And how does all this harm me or not? Basically, that now it would be more difficult to reach the final since only 6 arrive but, challenge accepted.

Well, we started the competition with the qualifications of the event. Of 4 girls passed 3 so, in theory it was an “easy” round, of course, easy when you do not touch very good opponents and with a lot of experience in competition. As you can see from the result, I went to the semi-finals in third position. The truth is that I did not expect it at all since I had done a very good round. Not the best of my life but quite well.
In these competitions there is a rule that says that once the result is put you can not change so, little could I do not agree but, anyway I went to the judges’ store to ask. It had been a small miscalculation and they apologized to me. Well, thank goodness I passed.

The second round, and semifinal round was a round that could easily have been a final of any other year. The level was very high and my chances of going to the final were scarce but, I went for everything. We competed very early in the morning and I was quite tired but, I was clear about my plan of attack. Well, or so I thought.

In my first round I fell.

So, basically, I had two options: 1) secure my round, and secure a good place without going to the final, 2) throw the house out the window, go for my hardest round and… In Option 2, there were two possible outcomes; result a) I fall and stay last or something like that and b) I plan my round, maybe I go to the final and, if I don’t pass, I’ll be left with a good position.

Well, as always, I chose the option of throwing the house out the window and it came out!

Wow, I thought my round had been better than the Russian but the judges didn’t agree with me. Nothing happens, I’m super happy because I gave it my all. In addition, in one of the obstacles I found a turtle there perched so quietly and instead of raising my arm and stopping, it was so concentrated that I passed the turtle on the side …
That said, I’m happy because I gave it my all and, you can see my two full semi-final rounds here:
