4x Champion of Spain

The Spanish Wakeboard Championship was held at Marbella Wakeboard center on November 9 (it was held only on one day due to the possibility of bad weather the next day).
The national is usually my last competition of the season and always catches me a little tired physically but, above all mentally. After all the year traveling, what I most want is to go home and rest and recharge batteries but, it was time to make one last effort for this competition.

In the morning we had qualifications and, I took it as a warm-up and to see how many points my “easy” round would give me and in what position I would be placed, in addition, we only had one round and of course, I did not want to fall.

Of the 3 possible rounds that I could fall, I decided to go for the easiest one and this led me to qualify in second position for the final that would be made a few hours later. It should be noted that… I think I’m starting to get older, I take more than ten years from some of my opponents … In general, the level of the championship was brutal, especially on the part of the kids. I love to see that wakeboarding in Spain has a future and, above all… I love that there are so many girls! I think it’s the sport I’ve seen the most little girls in a long time. Woho!

THE FINAL

I have been competing for as long as I can remember, almost, almost, I have competed in all the sports that were on the island of Fuerteventura (canoeing, optimist, handball, athletics, karate …) and, to this day I still get nervous. Sometimes more (I get nervous between 10 and 7 days before competing) and sometimes less (I get nervous 1-2 days before competing).
Getting nervous usually means that I have a hard time sleeping and sleeping little (so I go super tired to the water), that it is difficult for me to put food in my stomach (sometimes I can not even eat) and, well, imagine what it is like to go to the water without eating … I usually have a hole in my chest from the anxiety it gives me! This time I was nervous but, only the morning of the championship (thank goodness!!). In my first round I came out nervous but luckily we had the first half of the course to relax and once the first obstacle appeared the nerves disappeared and I did my job. In my first round they gave me 66 points, at the moment this placed me as Champion of Spain but, after the first round the starting order is re-ordered and the one that has done it best comes out last and vice versa, so I could see how all my compis went out to the water and, one by one, they were not getting more points than me.

All that remained was to go out into the water Elena and… It falls into the third module. That just means that… I’m Champion of Spain! At the moment of knowing myself the winner, all the fears go away, all the pressure goes away at once and the goal of a whole year of work in and out of the water is fulfilled. With this championship I became 4x times Champion of Spain and, for me it is an honor and a piece of joy.

I end this post thanking my sponsors in this 2019:

Livinda Apples

Phonecases3d (although it is no longer my sponsor I wanted to thank you for how much you have helped me in this 2019).

And also to all my friends, family and people I don’t know (those followers) who take a little time to send me messages, all this is very important to me and is gasoline to move forward. And, of course, to the Spanish Federation of Water Skiing and Wakeboarding for continuing to support us and give us the best years of our lives.

Thank you very much for everything and, see you in the water,
