This past month of February I went to Buenos Aires, Argentina to compete in the 10th IWWF Cable Wakeboard World Championship. Worlds are celebrated every two years and, two years ago I could not go due to economic reasons so, this was going to be my first ever worlds.
I had already been to Argentina before and I really like the country. The competition was taking place between the 14th and the 23rd of February 2019. Curiosity; this competition was supposed to happen in 2018 but it did not so they moved it to 2019. This actually means that next year we should have another World Championship.
So, competition wise, it all started at the Qualification rounds. Happily, I can say that I qualified in 1st position to the semifinals! That day I was not feeling great but I managed to find some energy and, I actually did great! I landed my full run almost just as I wanted. Next day it was a day off for the girls which felt amazing and, the next day, was again time to compete.
I was in Semifinal run A with a lot of big names, I had about 50% chance to make it through but I was way too nervous, not feeling super good and, I did not manage to put myself together. I ended up 4th and only the first 3 girls were going through to finals. This puts me as:
7th place at the IWWF Cable Wakeboard World Championships
I really can’t wait to start training again because I know I can do better. If you want to see my semifinal (not so awesome) runs, click here:
